Very slight foxing otherwise very good condition.  John Clare is best known for “The Shepherd’s Calendar” and “The Later Poems”.  Very little was known of the man himself.  This edition gathers together as many letters as are known to have survived. The extant material spans the whole of his adult life, and adds up to Clare’s own view of himself in relation to others.
